SATYRICON FEIERN 20-JÄHRIGES BANDJUBILÄUM MIT DEM RE-RELEASE VON NEMESIS DIVINA IM FRÜHJAHR 2016!
Künstlerisch herausragend, instinktiv zukunftsorientiert und unerbittlich innovativ – SATYRICON behalten sich seit jeher das Recht und den Sonderstatus vor, zu einer der wichtigsten und einflussreichsten Black Metal Bands einer gesamten Szene zu gehören. Jetzt sind sie bereit das Album Nemesis Divina – welches sie damals vom Underground Geheimtipp zu absoluten Genrehelden gemacht hat – neu zu veröffentlichen und so das 20-jährige Bandjubiläum gebührend zu feiern! Nemesis Divina erscheint im Frühjahr 2016 als Re-Release und wird zudem mit exklusiven Europa-Shows begeistern. Die norwegischen Pioniere werden das Album 2016 in seiner bahnbrechenden Gesamtheit performen!
“It’s not what we do and it won’t happen again! This band, as you know, is definitely not retrospective. But we started playing live in 1996. Our most groundbreaking milestone record came out in 1996. Nemesis Divina is the only one of the first three records that has aged really well. It’s the only one that we still play several songs from in our set to this day… so if I’m ever going to do anniversary shows and do a reissue and make it a big deal, it’s gonna be Nemesis Divina and it has to be now.”
Als SATYRICON mit Nemesis Divina 1996 das dritte Album veröffentlicht haben, lag ihr Status als eine der bedeutendsten und herausragensten Bands in der norwegischen Black Metal Szene schon außer Frage. Aber Nemesis Divina war keine gewöhnliche Veröffentlichung oder nur ein weiterer Schritt auf dem weiten Weg zum Erfolg. Stattdessen war dies eine revolutionäre und bahnbrechende Arbeit von einer Band, die plötzlich sämtliche Erwartungshaltungen auf jeder erdenklichen Ebene um Längen übertroffen hatte. Vom einzigartigen, lebendigen und wirkungsvollen Cover Artwork, mit seinen leuchtenden Farben und akribischer Ästhetik, bis hin zu vollkommen eigenwilligen Songs und raffinierten Einzelleistungen, wurde definitiv jede vermeintliche Regel im Black-Metal-Handbuch gebrochen. So stellte Nemesis Divina quasi im Alleingang den Black Metal von seiner freiwillig schattenhaft und dunklen Ursprungseite in das grelle Rampenlicht der internationalen Metal-Szene.
Es gibt definitiv zahlreiche Klassiker der norwegischen Szene der frühen 90er Jahre, wie Mayhem, Darkthrone, Kaiser und Immortal, jedoch haben SATYRICON zweifellos eine Vorreiterposition in der Hall of Fame des Black Metals. Es war wohl Nemesis Divina, welches die gesamte Szene zu neuen Ufern führte und ein neues Zeitalter – abseits der völlig in sich geschlossen und nach innen gerichtete Subkultur des Black Metals – eingeläutet hat. Vor allem präsentiert Nemesis Divina aber eine Band mit der musikalischen Intuition und Fähigkeit, die unleugbare Wirksamkeit ihrer künstlerischen Vision in der Welt zu veröffentlichen. Klanglich herausragend und kompositorisch akribisch, präsentierten sich Songs wie Mother North oder The Dawn Of A New Age, durch welche Black Metal erst in der Lage war, sich zwischen zeitlosen ästhetischen Werten zu positionieren.
“Everything expanded tenfold with Nemesis Divina,” erzählt Satyr. “For most people who liked the first two records, Satyricon climbed to a whole different level on Nemesis Divina and people really started to love the band. This album has a special place in our history. Suddenly we were selling 80,000 and then 100,000 records, and those numbers were unheard of in our small part of the world. That was the record that everyone that was into this scene wanted to buy. If you say there are two stages of evolution in black metal – the 80s, with Venom and Celtic Frost and Bathory, and then the 90s with the Norwegian stuff and everything followed in its wake – there are, at most, a handful of albums and a handful of songs that really define modern day black metal. Nemesis Divina is definitely one of those records and Mother North is definitely one of those songs.”
Um das 20-jährige Bandjubiläum gebührend zu feiern wird Nemesis Divina im Frühjahr 2016 als Re-Release veröffentlicht – in brandneuer Aufmachung und von Satyr persönlich re-mastered!

SKINDRED veröffentlichen am 30.10.2015 ihr sechstes Studioalbum „Volume“ via Napalm Records!
Volume? Auf die sprichwörtliche 11, bitte! Denn bereits seit 1998 sorgt das Quintett aus Wales mit seiner einzigartigen Mischung aus Core, Dub, Reggae und Funk dafür, dass kein Bein mehr am Boden, kein Shirt trocken – und kein Nacken steif bleiben. Da macht das neue Studioalbum „Volume“ keine Ausnahme und schlägt weiterhin tiefe Furchen ins Kerbholz.
Um sich davon selbst zu überzeugen, hat die Band nun den heißen Track „Under Attack“ veröffentlicht. Zu sehen gibt es das schmucke Teil HIER!
